Chennai: The 30-year-old food delivery agent was arrested for smuggling marijuana with the pretext of delivering food bags in Navalur near the Kambakkam on Friday.
The suspect Prakash Kumar Senapati, who lives in a house near Kanathur, traveled by bicycle wearing a t-shirt from a private food delivery application.
The police realized Senathi at the vehicle checkpoint near Akkarai and demanded him to display his identity card.
When he gave a contradictory reply, the police examined his bag and found 1,250kg of marijuana.
During questioning, Senathi told the police that he bought drugs from dealers at Andhra Pradesh and he had distributed it to school and college students in the city.
The police caught Senathi and took his bicycle.
