Chennai: Pet owners always struggle to find facilities to bury or cremate their animal friends even though this city has several burial spots for animals.
But now, the Blue Cross of India (BCI) and the Chennai Willingdon Foundation company has joined hands to give City to provide the first special animal crematorium facilities, which will also let the parents do the last ritual for their hairy friends before they bid on the Adieu .
This facility will be inaugurated on October 30 by L Ganesh, Chair, Chennai Willingdon Foundation.
“After the Chennai flood in 2015, N Sankar, then the President of the Foundation has helped put the concrete road in the BCI facility building in Velachery and also sponsored the geriatric ward for animals,” said Chinny Krishna, BCI.
“At that time, we have mentioned the need to have a pet crematorium.
Although the corporation has pet burial facilities in several places in the city, including Kannamapetai, many pet owners who live in apartments often end up bury their pets on the beach and elsewhere.
“Crematorium, which is located in BCI facilities in Velachery, will open all day a week.
“This is a gas-fired crematorium.
Essco Furnace Private Limited has provided a crematorium furnace and we have permission from TNPCB.
We will prepare a special link on our website so that pet owners can order slots,” Chinny said.
.
Non-denominational temples have also been arranged.
“Pet parents can do the last ceremony they want there,” said Chinny.
“It will be given in a jar in one hour of cremation.
While we haven’t done costs, we will ask the owner to donate anything that is possible for maintaining allegations of facilities and gas.”
