Chennai: The Greater Chennai Corporation on Thursday issued a notification of other performances to a private hospital to burden Covid patients and because they did not return the excess amount of civilian body.
Deputy Commissioner (Health) Dr.
Manish Narnawane issued a notification to the hospital in Adyar who stated that a patient named Gopinath, 42, had been hospitalized from May 25 to June 16 and had charged Rs 8.05 lakh.
This is Rs 1.99 Lakh higher than what is mandated by the Government of TN for Covid-19 treatment at a private hospital and for a comprehensive ministerial health insurance scheme.
On July 29, GCC issued a notification to the hospital who asked this to restore excess amounts to the patient.
However, there is no reply or refund made by the hospital, the notification is stated.
GCC hence issues other notifications asking why hospitals should not face actions under Section 51 of the disaster management law and part 188 IPC for violations.
Director of medical and rural health services was also given recommendations to take action against hospitals under the laws of clinical formation.
Narnawane told Tii that 21 hospitals had issued notice so far.
As much as Rs 15.19 lakh has been replaced by a hospital so far, he added.
