Chennai: A 38-year-old man fell 20 feet from Flyover Thiruninravur earlier on Monday.
The police identified the deceased such as M Suresh from Kodungaily which was a senior technician at a private hospital in Anna Nagar.
He suffered a head injury and a severe neck in the fall.
After work, he drove his electric scooter to Tiruvallur.
About 5.54 in the morning, he was negotiating the curve on the Flyover Thiruninravur when he hit the wall of the parapet wall and flew from the flyover while his scooter remained above.
The suspect police he might speed up and slipped or fell asleep.
He died in place.
Based on warnings, the police rushed to the place and sent his body to the Kilpuk Medical College government and hospital.
The wing of the Poonamallee traffic investigation investigated the accident.
“These smaller vehicles are susceptible to accidents compared to bicycles, especially when speeding.
Tires are smaller and tend to skid more often,” said an officer.
The Flyover was famous for the accident until April last year when the LED lights were installed.
The state highway department also installs several motorists’ warning boards to rise slower when on the bridge.
