Chennai: Man using a knife for a campaign for wives, held

Chennai: Ward 1 SriPerumbudur Pancarayat selector was on the edge of a razor on Monday when a man decided to campaign for his wife who fought as an independent candidate after being rejected by a ticket by Congress.
K BOPALAN, 42, raised a knife that asked for pedestrians to choose B Dhanalakshmi.
The police said the man, was once the Vice President of SC / Says Congress, was disappointed because he did not get a nomination to oppose the Civic body poll.
That’s when he decided to make his wife’s nomination as an independent candidate.
As soon as the nominee was received, Boopalan decided to do a sharp campaign on the streets.
Instead he wanted to be violence, he told the police.
“He said he combed in the neighborhood when several cadres of political parties made a sound,” said an investigative officer.
“That’s when he took out the knife and said to those who did not choose his wife to face the consequences.” Some spectators called the police who took BOPALAN to a safer place.
“We got a call from the neighbor and found this man holding a knife in a public place.
We have arrested him,” said a police officer.
BooPalan might give a voice for his wife if he gets a guarantee.
