Chennai: A 27-year-old man found smuggling of marijuana above Omnibus from Madurai was arrested in Chennai.
Based on certain tips, Koyambedu police have maintained supervision at the bus terminal.
The police inspected the items suspected of those who walked out of the terminus after getting off the TNSTC bus from other districts.
When he saw the police, a man left his bag and tried to escape from the place.
The police chased him and arrested him.
As long as it was questioned, the police revealed his identity as Balamurugan, Madurai’s native.
They confiscated three three kilograms of marijuana from his bag.
The police said Balamurugan, who lived in a rented house in Mugalivakkam near a porur, where he had stayed for the past six months, took marijuana and distributed it in a small sachet to students and young people.
Balamurugan was arrested and returned in a Puzhal prison.
Further investigation is active.
