Chennai: Chennai Metro Rail Limited has expanded the train timing and also improves top hour service.
Starting on Thursday, the Metro train will operate from 5.30 in the morning to 9pm, and rush hour will start at 8am to 11:00 to 8:00.
The train will be available every 10 minutes during non-peak hours and every five minutes during rush hour.
Previously, when the service was continued after the second covid-induced hip, the train operated from 6:30 a.m.
to 9pm with rush hour from 9am to 11:00 to 19:00.
Timing extension comes on foot increases, and regular commuters complain about compacted trains during rush hour and they are afraid to contract infection, although government instruction to operate a capacity of 50%.
At present, an average of 47,000 people travel every day on the Metro train.
CMRL said it enforced a fine of Rs 200 in 34 passengers so far because it was not wearing a mask properly at the station and the train.
It has mobilized a squad to ensure all passengers wear masks.
The crowd / management platform management staff has been deployed to ensure passengers maintain social distance at any time.
“All train and metro stations are often disinfected,” he said.
