Chennai: The Greater Chennai Corporation is set to take work on 70 projects including the development of parks, roads, rejuvenation of the lake among others under my namak naame thittam.
Commissioner Corporation Chennai Greater Gagandeep Singh Bedi said the Civic body had up to ₹ 45 crore allocated for the scheme and would use the money.
Naame’s name scheme is carried out based on partnership with members of the public welfare or public housing association (RWAS) in which interested parties must at least contribute 30% of the project costs.
In the first phase, the Civic body will do a job worth ₹ 9.3 crore.
Below, ₹ 7.7 Crore will be contributed by the public and rwas, while ₹ 1.6 crore will be provided by the government.
“Under the scheme, 17 parks and 18 schools will be increased.
The park will have a play area and exercise equipment.
The school will have a smart class,” Commissioner said.
Apart from this, 10 projects on the beauty of the city, nine projects about the increase in sidewalks, two on body body restoration and 13 on processed public toilets will also be carried out.

The park planned will have a path, children’s play area, open fitness center, public bathroom and drinking water facilities.
