Chennai police have not climbed a penalty for mask offenders

Chennai: City police have not increased a good amount from 200 to 500 for violating the combity of masks.
During the night locking from 10 nights on Friday to 5 in the morning on Saturday, the police had registered 4,962 cases for non-compliance and 21 masks because they did not maintain social distance.
In the past eight days, they have registered 43,478 cases against those who do not wear masks and collect a fine of 86.95 lakh from them.
Although the state government on Thursday issued orders to increase fines for non-compliance masks against 500, city police officers have not implemented revised penalties.
As many as 302 vehicles including 281 two wheels, 14 automatic rickshaws and seven cars were confiscated from violators.
These vehicles, parked on open land near the police station, will be returned to the owner after a week.
At least 10,000 police personnel, including law and order, traffic and armed reserves, have been deployed to MAN 312 vehicle check points in the city.
Those who at night patrolling have been asked to continue to change the inspection point of the vehicle to catch those who plan to spend vehicle check points.
The police have also tightened Vigil for drunk driving cases.
