Chennai: Depression which brought heavy rain which was battered Chennai and neighbors across Nadu Nadu North Beach near the city on Thursday evening surface wind speeds up to a maximum of 45kmph.
In a series of tweets, IMD said, “Depression across North Nadu Nadu Beach is close to Chennai between 5:30 pm and 6.30 this afternoon.
Depression over West Bay Bengal Bengal moved to the West West West at a speed of 12 kmb over the past six hours.” Agency It also said that the latest observations showed that depression crossed with a maximum sustainable wind speed of 45-55kmph barriers to 65kmph.
“It hit at 6:30 a.m.
on the northern coast of Tamil Nadu close to Chennai.
It is very likely to move the west-northwest and weakened gradually to a low pressure area which is well marked until tomorrow, November 12,” the agency was tweeted.
Previously on that day, IMD said that fresh low pressure areas would likely form on the South Andaman Sea around November 13.
