Chennai: The newlywed boat ride evokes Shikara’s pictures on the Dal or Gondola lake in Venice.
But Prabhu and Muthlaxhmi are not lucky.
They had to go up to fire boats and rescue services to leave the Corporation Community Hall in Girippa Road in T Nagar, where floods rose while they were married on Thursday morning.
In fact, those last left, waited until 80 guests who came from as far as Virudhunagar and Sivakasi were transported to a safe place.
As soon as the wedding, the guests panicked see the floods around the hall and in the kitchen where the food was waiting to be served.
Some calls carry help.
“We immediately rushed to the venue, where we saw the guests panicked.
Most of them were new in Chennai and worried about seeing water,” said a firefighter, who was part of the rescue team.
They made several boat trips, taught people almost three km to where their bus was parked.
“The bride and groom and the groom remains back and sends guests safely first.
They are the last to ride the ship.
They enjoy the trip that says it is something they have never expected,” the fire extinguisher said.
One guest told firefighters that they knew that there would be heavy rain, but never imagined they would also be surprised.
They cannot delay marriage because they pay all settings in advance.
