Chennai: Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) suspends more than 1,000 bus services due to heavy rain and delicious water in Chennai on Thursday.
MTC decided to operate 1,600 buses to help those who went to work.
But almost three quarters among them cannot complete travel on time.
As far as local trains, three services were canceled along the Techuvallur route.
There was a delay along the route Gummidipoondi and Tambaram as well, the train official said.
As a result, there is a big demand for autos and taxis.
So, rates rose 250% to 300% in the morning.
