Chennai: Family based in Pallavaram on Sunday filed a complaint to Tambaram Corporation, which stated that it was denied cremation in traditional facilities managed by companies by people who experienced encroachment above the place.
The family then cremates in different facilities.
In the complaint to Commissioner Tambaram Corporation M Elangovan, a family member said that when they took a 64-year-old cannammal body to a corporate-managed crematorium on Jalan Vathiyar Manickam Pallavaram, the shrimp blocked their entries and created a commotion, quoting rituals would cause pollution.
Encrimination behaves like a criminal, his complaint is stated.
Even after Commissioner Tambaram M Elangovan passed the information to the police and the Personnel team arrived, the seizure created a commotion, said S Ramachandran, relatives of kannamal who died.
The police, in an effort to avoid legal and order problems, asked family members to visit other crematoriums in Chromepet, he said.
“We don’t want to confrontation and move to other general crematoriums,” Ramachandran added.
Family members and Crematorium staff said that the crematorium was used by certain members of the Hindu community group, amounted to around 5,000 in the region, for the past 30 years.
However, during the recent locking, due to lack of movement, many encroachment had appeared in that place, they said.
S Jayanthi, who maintained the crematorium, alleged that the shrimp wanted to seize land since the Kuncian began.
“They want to take over the land.
If they prevent cremation, the place is not used and they can occupy,” he said.
Commissioner Elangovan said the crematorium would be restored, all obstacles were removed and used in full immediately for community members.
“Nothing will be rejected by their rights,” he added.
Police Commissioner Tambaram M Ravi said he had increased the problem with a collector.
“We will take problems with all parties concerned and overcome them by restoring the rights of affected people by ensuring that they can do the right and cremation in their own traditional place,” he said.
