Chennai: This city might get some shower around Pongal, said meteorologists.
Western disorders or low pressure areas, moving from the west above India, and causing snow and rain in the northern part of the country, it can trigger spells above the city around Pongal when meeting the incoming East wind.
The IMD has predicted light until the rain was in isolated places on Tamil Nadu Beach between 12 and January 14.
Blogger said the chances of light spells above the city can last at least six days.
During the next 48 hours, IMD has expected most of the cloudy skies in the city and suburbs and the maximum and minimum temperature of around 31C and 22C.
Previously, Director of the Cyclone Area Commemoration Center IMD N Puvarazan said the model showed that Western disorders could fall as low as in several parts of South India.
“When through this west meet the east wind, it can lead to some convective activities.
But it might not rain heavily,” said an official.
In the estimated five days, the IMD has said the storm with light to moderate possibilities in remote places on Tamil Nadu coast and interior districts side by side between 12 and 14 January.
“We have the chances of rain until January 18.
But they may have a lightning storm that can last for five or 10 minutes and can occur at any time,” said Weatherblogger Pradeep John.
