Chennai: Chennai and neighboring districts may get light rain until the next few days while some other parts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive heavy rain.
Five Day Forecast by the Meeting Department on Saturday said that the storm with heavy rain is likely to occur in isolated places above Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Salem and Krishnagiri and light rain possibly in many places above Tamil Nadu and the North Coast Saturday and Sunday .
Insulated places in the Namakkal district and Kallakurichi will get heavy rain on Sundays.
On Monday, a storm with heavy rain is estimated in insulated places above Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Namakkal, Karur, Trichy, Pulajottai and Delta District While the South District tends to get moderate rain for the next two days.
Chennai may experience a cloudy sky with light rain to medium in several regions until Monday.
An official meets the department said the rain was caused by wind circulation in the upper atmosphere.
