Chennai: It’s time to take your raincoat and umbrella because the weather has expected rainfall to intensify in the city and suburbs in the next few days with the northeast round the corner.
The IMD has expected a storm with mild rainfall to moderate to continue for the next two days, but the spell is expected to increase starting next week – the rainy season is expected to begin in the middle of next week.
Private forecasters and meteorologists say state and cities may have very simple onset because there may be no significant weather system that brings spells.
During the next 48 hours, IMD has expected a storm with light rainfall to moderate in several areas in the city and its surroundings with a cloudy sky.
Maximum and minimum temperature tends to be around 34C and 26C.
“The rainfall was caused by the cyclone circulation at a height of 1.5 km near the vomorine and trough areas related to the Arab Sea through Kerala and the coast of Karnataka,” said an official.
