Chennai: This country added 1,612 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, a decline from 1,624 on Wednesday and 1,630 on Tuesday.
However, 13 districts reported an increase of up to 20 cases compared to their Wednesday counting.
Death because viral infections increased to 28 compared to 24 on Wednesday and 17 on Tuesday.
The cumulative death toll touched 35,578 on Thursday.
The country issued 1,626 people from the registry, which left 17,150 people still undergoing treatment for viral infections.
The case connects 26.63 lakh.
On Thursday, Chennai reported the highest number of cases with 183 infections, followed by 176 cases in Coimbatore.
However, cases in both districts fell from 189 in Chennai and 181 in Coimbatore on Wednesday.
Chengalpet (112) and Erode (109) also reported more than 100 cases each.
The sharpest increase was reported in Thanjavur, where new cases increased to 98 on Thursday starting 78 on Wednesday.
On namakkal, cases rose to 65 out of 52 for the same period of time.
Dharmapuri reported 45 new cases, 10 more than the calculation of Wednesday.
Increasing in all other districts is between one and four cases.
With four new cases, Tenkasi reported the least new cases on Thursday.
A total of 14 districts reported less than 20 cases each on Thursday.
Of the 24 deaths reported on Thursday, there were five of Chennai and two of each of the coimbatore, Thanjavur, Thiruvallur, Trichy, Thoothukudi and Ramanathapuram.
Eleven districts reported one death and 20 others reported zero death.
Of the 17,192 people who underwent treatment, there were 2,038 cases active in coimbatore.
The active case in Chennai fell below 2,000 marks to 1,970 on Thursday compared to 2,006 on Wednesday.
Tenkasi (59) has a few active cases.
On Thursday, a vaccinated state of 3.2 lakh people who pushed tally cumulative doses to 4.5 doses of crore.
The state has a dose of 12 crore vaccines for 6 crore people.
The private vaccination center has been vaccinated by 25.03 lakh people since May1.
