Chennai: Ten cows were trimmed by a fast truck on the Vandalur-Walajabad highway near Padappai on Friday.
According to witnesses, the driver turned a truck to avoid hitting the flock of livestock that moved on the road and went in the other direction.
The vehicle then ran more than ten cows sleeping on the road.
The police said the incident made local people restless.
According to officials, it appears to be an accidental death of swamps.
Manimangalam police have registered a case and launched a heavy vehicle driver.
Even though the warning did not allow livestock out on the road, the owner failed to take problems seriously, police said.
