Chennai: Chennai is studying to live with a virus because every government moves to facilitate restrictions being matched by increasing people around shopping centers, offices, centers / recreation centers / grocery stores in the city.
Data from the Covid-19 Mobility Report Google – Trackers that measure the congestion of people around certain points based on location data – shows 28% more people move around the retail center and recreation on August 20 (the latest data date) compared to July 2 ( Friday that matched last month) when most shopping and recreation centers remained closed.

Google graph movement trends in various categories of places such as retail and recreation (including shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas etc.), supermarkets and pharmacies, parks, workplaces, and housing.
Google comes to insight using an anonymous data set from users who have turned on location history settings on their Google account.
K T Srinivasa Raja, MD from the Chain of the Hotel Adyar Ananda Bhavan, said footsteps 70-80% of the current pre-covid level, but a large meeting or a family eating place still has not been picked up.
Google’s report calculates changes in the movement of residents on various dates compared to the initial date on February 2020 (pre-covid).
So, assuming 100 people visited retail stores in Chennai in February, Google analysis of user location data showed that movements around shopping centers fell 42% on July 2, and 26% on August 20 increased from July to August.
BK Shankar, CEO of Vivek Electronic Chain said positive footsteps and on the increase in the past month.
“Previously, the full family used to come out for electronic purchases but now we see people who come in small groups leaving small children or elders at home.
In addition, people have come out and shopping as usual,” he said.
