Chennai: A retired Employee of Metrowater and his wife was found killed underground in their homes in collapskkam near Vandalur on Saturday, with their throat gap.
The woman’s hand was tied.
The attackers entered the house even though there were two dogs, washed blood stains and sprinkled turmeric powder to destroy their footsteps, police said.
The deceased was identified as Samson Dinargan, 63, a first time guard with Chennai’s metropolitan water supply and the Softest Board (CMWSSB), popular as a metrowater, and his 52-year-old wife Janet.
Samson Alia, 55, Son Immanuel, 28, and Putri Benita, 30, lived in Guduvanchery.
An officer said Benita, who spoke to his father by telephone every day, tried to contact him during heavy rains on Friday night but gave up after three calls, assuming that he might fall asleep.
But, when he remained unreachable on Saturday, he called one of Samson’s neighbors and asked him to check.
After going home, the neighbors told him that no one in the house, the door was locked from inside and the back door was left open.
Benita then rushed home with her mother and brother.
Find it blank, he reminded the control of the police and police vandalur-ot-otonist told.
A team of officers rushed to the place and began asking questions.
Lights outside the house where they are found are turned off.
In one of the rooms, the smell of blood was present even though the stains were swept away and turmeric powder sprinkled throughout the room.
Empty boxes are found on the floor.
The police team then checked the outside place and saw that the flood remained half open.
Floating inside is Samson’s body and Janet.
Their throat signed a long blade and the woman’s hand was tied.
The body was sent to the chromepet government hospital for post-mortem examination.
The police quoted some neighbors couples said the couple always made the door locked and never opened it for outsiders.
Samson only opened the door for those who were known to them, said an inquiry officer.
“It’s hard for outsiders to enter when a dog never let anyone,” he added.
Registered murder case.
Janet’s cellphone was taken from home, while Samson’s cellphone was found near the fuel outlet (gasoline bunk) in Alaxkam near Nedunkundram.
The police have collected CCTV camera footage from the area to arrest the killer.
The motive behind the murder has not been established and the police also saw the possibility of someone who was known by the victims involved.
