Thiruvananthapuram: The leader of the Senior Congress of Ramesh Chennithala on Tuesday moved Lokayukta who was looking for a probe into alleged corruption and nepotism in the re-refining Dr.
Gopinath Raveendran as Deputy Chancellor of the University of Kannur.
In his request it was put forward before Lokayukta, Chennithala alleged that the Minist of Higher Education Kerala R Bindu had written to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan who was looking for the appointment of Raveendran as Deputy Chancellor of the University of Kannur.
According to the petition, the minister did not have the authority to write a letter of recommendation to the governor, which was also a university chancellor, and he had to be disqualified when he violated office oath and showed favoritism in the appointment of Raveendran again.
Considering Petition, Lokayukta searches for the Director General of the Director General of Prosecution (DGP) which represents the government about this issue and posted it for January 18 for further consideration.
