Thiruvananthapuram: Ending his 20-year-old duties with CPM, Cherian Philip rejoined the Congress by playing with that “there was no deep party democracy in CPM”.
“I prefer to die in my house than to die at home,” said Philip.
“There is no internal democracy in CPM.
If I write something, I will be an enemy for them.
In Congress, there are internal democracy and everyone can express their opinions,” he said.
Then, he said to the main minister was under the control of a caucus led by the additional personal secretary of C M Raveendran in his office.
“Ravedran is a super cm in the office and no one can approach the minister’s chairman without his consent.
Many bureaucrats and top ministers have complained about him to me.
The minister’s chairman really did not understand what had happened in his office,” Philip said.
He said the cabinet ministers and party leaders were afraid of the main minister and therefore they did not approach him directly or told him something straight.
Therefore the minister’s chairman was misled by this caucus, he said.
Philip said he had to leave Congress since then party leaders were not ready to listen to his demands.
However, now the Congress has learned from his mistakes and made a decision to introduce new faces both in the organization and also in the Parliament.
Previously, Philip met the leader of the senior party Antony at his home.
“Even though we have a dispute at first, our disputes are very condensed.
Now with this meeting, we can solve the problem,” Antony said.
CPM clarifies Philip has come alone to CPM and will now just return to Congress, he is not a party member and has not held a position at the party, said Secretary of the CPM Vijayaraghavan acting.
On Philip’s charges against the CM office, Vijayaraghavan said, “Kerala people know who is the main minister and how his office works.
Transparency has been confirmed there.”
