Chewing tobacco Repairing Oral Cancer: Gujarat CM

Gandhinagar: Chairman of Minister Vijay Rupani said that chewing tobacco has triggered a case of oral cancer between men, especially in Saurashtra, and that cancer patients in the country have increased.

He added, “Cancer care is very expensive in private hospitals.
The instruments used in cancer treatment are also very expensive, each cost around Rs 25 Crore.
The government has established a cancer hospital in Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar to provide free cancer care for free People.
“In response to the question by Dasada Mla Naushad Solanki in a budget session that the Assembly has recently held, the state government gives figures about cancer cases over the past five years.
According to government leaders, the number of cases of cancer registered in 2016 reached 16,224, which had reduced and 14,179 cases registered in 2019.
