Daltonganj: The Bihar government said it would not allow Jharkhand worshipers to visit Deo Kartik Chhath in Deo in the Aurangabad district for Chhath Puja due to Covid-19 pandemic.
A letter signed by the Magistrate District Aurangabad (DM) and sent to all district commissioners in Jharkhand on October 27, said Deo Mandir Neyas Samiti has decided to only allow locals who are fully inoculated with two covid vaccine doses to do rituals in Deo from 8 until November 11.
DM has also asked Deputy Commissioner to convey information about the prohibition of worshipers in Jharkhand who plan to come to Deo for rituals.
The DM letter also said, “Deo Mandir Neyas Samiti has dissolved welds and Mahosavs during the Chhath Festival at Deo.” Palamu DC Shashi Ranjan said he had received a letter from his colleague in Aurangabad.
He said, “The instructions have been given to all SDOs, BDO and police officers to ask people not to go to Deo Kartik Chhat when the Bihar government has banned the entry of Jharkhand worshipers,” he said.
SDO (aware) Rajesh Kumar was valid he held a meeting with the organizer of Chhath Ghat and delivered a ban established by the Bihar Government.
