Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday inaugurated a bridge on the Indravati River in the Dantewada District which was hit by Chhattisgarh rebellion, which was strategically important because it would provide all weather connectivity to around 40 villages located in Abhujmad forest, an official said.
The 712 meter long bridge, was built at a cost of Rs 47 Crore, located near the village of Chhindnar, which is 30 kilometers from the city of Gedam and 400 kilometers from here, he said.
Speaking on that occasion, Baghel said, “Chhindnar Bridge has opened a new development gate to Abhujmarh.
The villages on the other side of the river will have access to various public welfare facilities.
This will facilitate the movement of ambulances and passenger vehicles in Indonesia Interior villages crossing The river and also accelerating the arrangement of anganwadi, school building, electrification work.
“CM announced the bridge will be named after former Sarpanch Pahurnar Poseram Kashyap Village, who was killed by Naxals in 2018 after he demanded his constructive.
CM also paid homage to the Head of Forced (CAF) Martyred Chhattisgarh (CAF) Laxmikant Dwivedi, who was killed in Naxal explosion during patrolling to ensure protection against the development bridge in March last year.
“The construction of this bridge is not an easy task.
Security personnel put their lives risking their constructors and ensuring protection day and night for it,” Baghel said.
CM approved a number of Rs 10 Crore for the development of work in Pancayats and Rs 3.91 for electrification in the villages on the other side of the river.
Inspector General of Police (Range of Bastar) Sundarraj P claims the bridge will be a modifier of the game in the lives of thousands of local youth, especially the tribe.
“The road to Abujhmad’s forest from Dantewada has been opened, thus, gives access to several villages on the other side.
