New Delhi: The Chhattisgarh government has transferred RS 1,522 Crore to a bank account of around 21 lakh farmers under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana (RGKNY).
Transfers are made in accordance with the commemoration of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
This is the second of the 4 installments of the scheme, where the government will disburse the total RS 5600 Crore.
Minister of Justice Bhupesh Baghel said that from the 2021 season, Rgkny had been expanded to include rice and several other Kharif plants.
This scheme was applied by 2020 to provide a reasonable price for farmers, increasing the productivity of Kharif plants and encouraging diversification of plants.
The number of RS 3 Crore 49 lakh was also transferred online to the beef pressing, the Gauthan Committee and the non-governmental group of women under Godhan Nyay Yojana for Dung Cows were bought from them.
About 45 percent of the recipients of this scheme are women.
The Chhattisgarh government also began Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhoomheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana to provide financial assistance to landless agricultural workers.
Under the scheme, Rs 6000 will be given every year to rural families who do not have agricultural land and are associated with mnrega or agricultural wages.
