NEW DELHI: Searching restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir,” Congress leader Chidambaram on Monday said parliament should counter the”violating” legislation in the approaching monsoon session and reestablish the status quo ante there.
He claimed it is the sole method to draw on the starting lineup for a political settlement of the Kashmir problem.
“What was created under the Constitution cannot be unmade by an Act of Parliament, misinterpreting and misusing the terms of this Constitution,” he explained.
His comments come before their June 24 meeting convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at which 14 political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, involving four former chief ministers, are invited for discussions.

Chidambaram noted that you needs to keep in mind that the”dismembering” of all J&K was contested in the Supreme Court and the cases are pending for almost two decades.
