Mumbai: Maharashtra police have arrested 105 people and registered 213 cases in connection with the creation and circulation of child pornography on the Internet in the last 18 months, a police senior official said on Friday.
Registered cases based on the “Tipline Report” distributed by the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) in the last 18 months, said Sanjay Shintre, police supervisor (SP) Maharashtra Cyber.
“Tipline Reports” Pornography Children are produced by the National Center based in the US and exploit children (NCMEC) after monitoring websites, search engines, and social media platforms.
NCMec with the help of the Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI) routinely shared a report with India NCRB, which shared it with cyberspace police from all states, it was stated.
The report contains the IP address and location of which pornographic material is accessed, and on this basis, the cyber police then traces the defendant.
According to police, Maharashtra Cyber ​​began operating Blackface in 2019-20 to crack down on pornography of children in the state.
Of the 11,122 “Tipline Report”, 5.699 The highest report was sent to Pune, followed by 4,496 to Mumbai, 364 to Thane, 302 to Nagpur, 90 to Aurangabad and so on, stated.
In Maharashtra, the Nagpur police have registered 38 violations, which are the highest, based on this report, the official said.
Under the Blackface operation, Maharashtra Cyber ​​has identified the district from which content related to child pornography is being transmitted.
At least 213 violations have been registered in the last 18 months and 105 people have been captured by the provisions of the protection of children from the Sexual Act (Pocso), Indian Criminal Code Law and Information Technology (IT), stated.
