New Delhi: Delhi police have registered pine against Twitter for allegedly allowing access to child pornography on the microblogging platform in complaints by the National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection (NCPCR), officials said on Tuesday.
This case has been registered in the relevant provisions of the Indian Code (IPC), the protection of children from acts of sexual violations (Pocso) and IT laws, they said.
It came a few days after the NCPCR, the APEX Rights Agency of the country, asked the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber ​​Cell) Anyesh Roy to explain why no action was taken against Twitter in accordance with his letter to Delhi Police on May 29.
In his letter, NCPCR has asked Delhi police to order Twitter on the basis of findings from his recent investigation where he found that child sexual abuse (CSAM) is easily available on the platform.
Delhi Public Relations Officer, Chinmoy Balmal said, “acting on complaints received from the National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection regarding the availability of child sexual harassment and child pornography material on Twitter in the form of various accounts and links, which are relevant parts of IPC, Act and Act Pocso It has been registered by the cyber crime unit, and investigation has been taken.
“The complaint was against Twitter Inc.
and Twitter Communication India Private Ltd., police said.
In May 29 letters, NCPCR said that it was found that “Toolkit for deep and dark webs” is also available on Twitter.
It provides access to all, including children, to get CSAM.
