Children who are kidnapped for sale for RS 90,000: Police

Coimbatore: A five-month-old girl who was kidnapped from her mother in Anamalai for sale for Rs 90,000, Deputy Coimbatore Range Inspector General (Dig) Muthusamy police said on Friday.
The police, who saved the child on Thursday, arrested a 51-year-old man who had bought it.
The kidnappers have been identified as R Ramar, 45 of Angalakurichi and Murucesan, 29, from Sethumans.
Both of them work as painters.
The police said that Ramar had not been involved in any crime before kidnapping, while Murgage was involved in the case of theft.
M Muthupandi, 51, from Angalakurichi married 20 years ago.
But he has no children.
He worked at the Pith Coir unit as a manager.
Get out of despair, he decided to kidnap someone’s child and was looking for opportunities.
He recently approached Ramar looking for his help.
Muthusamy said that Ramar saw Sangeeetha lived with her children at the bus stop in Anamalai.
He and her husband Manikandan from Mysore were in Anamalai to buy old clothes.
Ramar and Murugesan approached Sangeeetha on Tuesday night when Manikandan left.
They tried to take advantage of bad Sangtha and buy their children.
They offer money to Sangeetha.
When he rejected the idea, they left the place.
But they immediately returned and offered Rs 50 to buy Chili Chily for their children.
When he crossed the road to buy Chili Chicken, they kidnapped the child.
Coimbatore supervisor from Police S Selvanagarathinam formed eight police teams led by Valparai DSP Sevenivasan.
They collected CCTV recordings available up to 20 km from place and analyze them to get instructions on the kidnappers.
He said that the defendant would be detained under the Goondas law.
Muthusamy appreciated police personnel involved in rescue with cash prizes and certificates.
