Shanghai: China’s disciplinary inspection center, the top anti-corruption agent, has criticized what is called a culture of drinking business “disgusting” after scandal of sexual violence in the Giant e-commerce Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.
“In the incident, an unhealthy dynamics in the work environment, a disgusting culture, lack of transparency when reporting problems together exposing unspoken rules that are rooted,” he said in the notification on his website.
The piece demands people to decide “unspoken rules” such as forced drink.
On Sunday, Alibaba female staff accused him sexually attacked by his manager and clients while on a business trip.
The incident caused a storm in Chinese social media and a public reaction to Alibaba.
The staff accused that he was forced to drink while at a dinner meeting.
He said that when he told the event to a high-level manager, he described a drink as needed to do business.
On Monday, CEO of Alibaba Daniel Zhang announced that the alleged actor, along with several other Alibaba staff, had been fired.
He also urged Alibaba employees to feel empowered to refuse to drink alcohol.
