China Building ‘Dual Use’ Villages with Lac: Lt General Manoj Pande

Rupa: China has played integrated military exercises and made the formation of troops still mobilized, while it also continues to build the border village “double use” and army habitat, head of the East Army Command LT General Manoj Pande said on Tuesday.
India, in turn, ensures full operational preparedness to take care of the possibility of contingency along the border.
‘Working to reduce the threat to the chicken neck’ India also diligently works to mitigate threats to vulnerable siliguri corridors or “chicken neck”, said the head of the East Army Command Manoj Pande.
The government is also checking whether the existing border pact with China, including the Border Cooperation Agreement (BDCA) inking in October 2013 must be reviewed after a 17-month-old military confrontation in East Ladakh.
LT-Gen Pande, on his side, their efforts “have respected the bilateral agreements and protocols” and “do not show any aggression” in accordance with the “larger strategic guidance”, regardless of actions or responses from people’s release.
Soldier.
“But the consequences of what happens (in East Ladakh) and what we need to do in the future, this is something that I think is seen at the highest level,” he added.
Many PLA backup formations, mobilized last year, continued to stay in a place in the “depth area” at the border of 1,346 km which was owned by Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim with the Tibetan autonomous region in the east sector.
“There is also a scale increase and duration of PLA exercises, with a focus on integrated joints, this year.
But these exercises occur in their traditional training areas in depth,” said LT-Gen Pande.
In the actual control line, there has been a “marginal increase” in Chinese patrols and the number of border defense forces in several regions such as ASAPHILA due to infrastructure development.
“But we have an adequate level of power in each sector.
In East orders, we ensure that our readiness, our ability to react to every possible remains is very high.
We also maximize the use of technology for ISR (intelligence, supervision, and reconnaissance),” he said.
Corridor Siliguri, a narrow piece of land that connects the northeast with all of India, but remains a major concern.
Face-off 73 days in Doklam near Sikkim-Bhutan-Tibet Tri-Junction in 2017 began after Indian forces blocked China’s efforts to expand the motorbike track towards Bander Jamper, which faced the Siliguri corridor.
Fallout is that PLA has built military infrastructure and permanently deployed troops in the North Doklam.
With China interested in controlling Doklam, last week also signed Mou with Bhutan to accelerate their bilateral boundary negotiations.
“Yes, the Siliguri corridor is sensitive for us.
We see the ‘whole nation’ approach, with the armed forces, central armed police forces, central institutions and state governments working together, to reduce this threat,” said LT-Gen Pande.
India and China are fully aware of each other’s sensitivity “in the region.
The officer said he did not fully agree that there was military asymmetry with China.
