It increased by 85.1% in the total number of local cases from a week before.
The level was almost unchanged from an 87.5% surge that was seen in the previous week, the officials said were mainly driven by the Delta variant which highly translined.
From new cases reported on Wednesday, 54 of which were found in Yangzhou City in East Jiangsu Province.
Yangzhou surpassed the provincial capital, Nanjing, as a city with the most local cases since August 6.
Delta variants have been detected in more than a dozen cities since the first case was found in Nanjing at the end of July, spurring officials to Beijing told the local government to overcome “thought weakness” in their detention steps and closed the gap in their virus fighting efforts.
But China has refrained from full locking from big cities as seen during the early days of the Covid-19 outbreak in Hubei Province, to avoid paralyzing the economy, although some economic pain has been felt.
Housing or district compounds that are considered greater risk are closed.
Cities with areas marked as medium or high risk have seen various levels of restrictions in public places.
Flights are still allowed to depart from cities that have reported cases, expect those who leave Nanjing, Yangzhou and Zhangjiajie.
But flights and trains entered the Beijing of the area where the case had been reported to have been cut.
The capital, where one new case confirmed locally reported, only allows long-distance passenger bus services with the city of Tianjin and Hebei Province.
The overall China scheduled air capacity fell 31.9% over the past week, one of the sharpest weekly decreases during the pandemic, according to the OAG flight data company.
“We do not expect to see the immediate recovery from that capacity in the coming weeks which will further suppress global recovery,” Oag said in weekly updates.

The number of new asymptomatic infections is 30 compared to the previous 38 days.
