Beijing: China sends flights to 210 citizens from Afghanistan, the country’s media reported Friday, when the US military prepared to leave the country and the security situation was full of enthusiasm.
The Global Times newspaper published by the ruling communist party said Xiamen Airlines flights departed July 2 from the Capital Kabul and landed in the central province of Hubei.
The airline confirms the report in the Weibo account post like Twitter but does not offer additional details.
The Global Times and other reports said 22 of them were positively tested for Covid-19, although this number did not appear in the daily report on the National Health Commission on new cases.
US troops were scheduled to leave Afghanistan on August 31 after almost 20 years of struggling against the Taliban.
Chinese companies have invested in the mining and infrastructure of Afghanistan, but these assets appear more in danger because the Taliban grab a large number of regions, maybe put Kabul with risk.
