Beijing: Ahead of the establishment of the government in Afghanistan, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said he hoped that new establishments would be open and inclusive, and escape from terror groups.
The Chinese Minister made a statement during a telephone call on Friday with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdolahian, Global Times reported.
This statement in Afghanistan came a few days after a senior Chinese leader told the group that Beijing would defend their embassy in Kabul.
After the US came out of Afghanistan and the Taliban took over the country, China was worried about the possibility of the resurrection of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), cross-border and terrorism agents in the Xinjiang region.
Ethim, also known as the Turkistan Islamic movement, is an active uighur ethnic group in Afghanistan which has long tried to achieve independence for Xinjiang, which imagined as “East Turkestan.” Previously, China had submitted to the Taliban delegation who visited that the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) pose a direct threat to national security and territorial integrity and combat Ethim was the general responsibility for the international community.
The Chinese Foreign Minister has sent this message to the Head of the Afghan Taliban Political Commission Mullah Abdul Ghbaradar During their meeting in Tianjin.
“We hope the Afghan Taliban will make a net break with all terrorist organizations including Etim and explicitly and effectively fight them to eliminate obstacles, play a positive role and create conditions that allow for security, stability, development and cooperation in the region,” reading China said.
Meanwhile, the Taliban has stated that it will primarily rely on financing from China for an economic comeback in Afghanistan.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in an interview with Italian newspaper, published earlier this month, said the Taliban would fight for economic comeback with Chinese help.
“China is our most important partner and represents a fundamental and extraordinary opportunity for us, because it is ready to invest and rebuild our country,” Taliban spokesman said as quoted in an interview, reported Al Jazeera.
He said the new Silk road – an infrastructure initiative with China wanted to increase its global influence by opening trade routes – held in “very high” by the Taliban.
There is a “rich copper mine in the country, which, thanks to Chinese people, can be put back into operation and modernized.
In addition, China is our pass to markets throughout the world.”
