China said XI was not given an option for the video address to COP26

Beijing: China said on Tuesday that President Xi Jinping was not given the opportunity to send video addresses to COP26 climate talks in Scotland and had to send a written response instead.
XI, who did not attend the UN meeting directly, delivered a written statement to “high level segments for the head of state and government” on Monday where he did not offer additional promises, while urging their countries and “strengthen mutual trust and cooperation” .
“As I understand, the conference organizer does not provide a video link method,” said Spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Wenbin to reporters with a regular briefing.
A British government spokesman said England wanted people to attend COP26 directly so that leaders could not be virtually shared.
They can only offer recorded addresses or statements.
The British has organized a COP26 meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, which aims to secure clean carbon zero emissions and maintain the target of the Paris Agreement from a temperature increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius within reach to curb the impact of global warming.
Climate observer has expressed concern that XI’s physical absence means China is not ready to offer concessions again during this round talk.
But Beijing said that it had made a number of big promises last year, promised to bring emissions to the peak in 2060, raising the total solar capacity and wind to 1,200 gigawatt in 2030 and using the use of wobbly coal began in 2026.
Diplomatic faltered.
The relationship between China and the United States – two largest emites of greenhouse gas climate heating – emerged as one of the biggest block stumbling blocks during the latest round of climate talks.
Beijing has rejected Washington’s efforts to separate the climate of a broader conflict between the two sides, with senior diplomat Wang Yi told A.S.
Climate envoy John Kerry in September that there is still a “desert” that threatens “oasis” of climate cooperation.
One point contradiction for China has become a US imposition for Chinese companies, including a supplier of solar equipment, with a link to the Xinjiang region.
China rejected Western charges of human rights violations in the northwestern region of the country.
“You cannot ask China to cut coal production on the one hand, while at the same time force sanctions on Chinese photovoltaic companies,” said Wang on Tuesday.
The Global Times, part of the Communist People’s Newspaper Stall managed by the Communist Party, said in editorial on Monday that the United States should not expect to be able to influence Beijing in the climate, while attacking it on human rights and other problems.
Washington’s attitude towards China has made it “it is impossible for China to see the potential to have a fair negotiations in the middle of the tension”, said the paper.
