Beijing: More than 30 Chinese officials have been fired or accepted other sentences on charges they failed to respond correctly to the latest Coronavirus surge in this country.
Among those who were fired were Deputy Mayor, Head of City District and the Health Commission, and staff in the Department of Hospital Management, Airports and Tourism.
The Chinese National Health Commission on Monday announced 94 new cases of domestic transmissions have been recorded 24 hours earlier.
This latest outbreak is associated with the airport in the East Nanjing city.
The very contagious Delta variant spreads among airport workers and has since spread from tropical Hainan Province in the south to Mongolia in the northern tip.
