New Delhi: seventeen months into military confrontation in East Ladakh, China continues to build more troops along the border as part of the overall consolidation of the ongoing military position and increased air base faced by India.
The recent surveillance and intelligence report shows the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has built new modular container-based accommodation for its soldiers at least eight more advanced locations along the actual (LAC) control line across the East Ladakh.
Also read the problem that disappears to inhibit border talks: Indiandia accuses China trying to inhibit border negotiations by trying to confuse management problems on the border with greater problems than the boundary resolution.
The new troop shelter range was built from Wahab Zilga near The Karakoram Pass in the north to Pante, Hot Springs, Chang La, Tashigong, Manza and Churup when someone went south along the LAC.
“Each location has 80 to 84 containers arranged in seven clusters,” said a source.
This fresh protection place besides more habitats built by PLA since the military defense erupted in April-May last year, clearly shows that China has no intention of listening to troops from the forefront for the future.
“We may feel the heat of combat spread in Ladakh, but we also force PLA to enter for a prolonged advanced deployment and extensive construction,” said a senior officer.
“Apart from the cost of costs, it has influenced the moral of the PLA troops.
While our troops are used to operating in harsh mountainous fields, Chinese soldiers do not,” he added.
Both India and China continue to maintain around 50,000 soldiers, supported by howitzers, tanks and surface-to-air missile systems in the “depth area immediately” along the LAC on the East Ladakh.
In the midst of uncomfortable tranquility, both troops have regularly play their troops because of the hard terrain and oxygen deprivation in high altitude areas, while exerting aircraft and drones to keep an eye on each other.
China has also developed several new air strikes and Helipad for 3,488 km Lac, stretching from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, in addition to increasing its main airbase such as Hotan, Kashgar, Gargunsa (Ngari Gunsa), Lhasa-Gonggar and Shigatse for additional fighters and bombers, such as which was reported by TII before.
PLA has also used two Surface-to-Air S-400 airbird batteries from Russia, apart from several other anti-airplane systems, to overcome air strikes by India.
“This is also currently testing the radar acquisition target array bird bird ‘related to the S-400 system in Gargunsa,” another source said.
India, incidentally, is also scheduled to begin sending five S-400 squadrons by the end of this year, under a $ 5.43 billion contract (RS 40,000 Crore) inking with Russia in October 2018.
