Beijing: China has determined its first diplomatic contact with the Taliban in Kabul after militant groups take control of Afghanistan and both parties now have “non-meal and effective communication”, said a Chinese official on Wednesday.
Taliban seized power in Afghanistan on August 15, two weeks before the US will complete the withdrawal of troops after the war two decades are expensive.
“China and the Taliban Afghanistan have effective communication and consultation,” said Chinese Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told media direction here when asked about talks between deputy head of the Taliban political office, Abdul Salam Hanafi and the Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Wang Yu in Kabul.
“Kabul naturally is an important platform and channel for us to discuss the main problems,” Wang said, without expressing details.
“China respects independent Afghan people’s decisions in their own future and destiny, supports the implementation of Afghanistan and Afghanistan principles, and stands ready to continue to develop good friendship and cooperation with Afghanistan and play constructive roles in peace and reconstruction of the country,” he said .
China together with Pakistan and Russia made its embassy open in Kabul while India, the US and other countries closed their diplomatic missions after the Taliban controlled Kabul on August 15.
Because the Taliban entered Kabul who had surprised in a large-scale evacuation by the US and its allies, China which held a Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar last month remained calm and called for inclusive government in Kabul.
In his conversation with Baradar, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had asked militant groups to decide on his relationship with terror groups, especially the Uygur Muslim militant group from Xinjiang, the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM).
Baradar reported convincing Wang that the Taliban would not allow Etim from operating from Afghanistan and called for Chinese investment in a torn country.
After the Taliban controlled Kabul, China called on the establishment of an open, inclusive, and representative government established adopting moderate and wise domestic and foreign policies and in accordance with the aspirations of its people and general expectations of the international community.
Last month, China has replaced messengers, especially to Afghanistan Liu Jian with his former ambassador to Qatar, Jordan and Ireland, Yue Xiao Yong.
