NEW DELHI: It will be weeks and not months before Mehul Choksi, wanted in the Rs 13,500 crore PNB scam, is brought back to India, said senior advocate Harish Salve whose services have been sought by Delhi to fight the deportation case in Dominica.
In an interview to a TV channel, he said Choksi would be back in India “in weeks”.
“I don’t have that kind of experience in Dominican courts, but hopefully we should be taking weeks rather than months,” Salve said when asked about the deportation of Choksi.
The government has not made any announcement on engaging Salve in the deportation case.
Choksi has hired top lawyers from the UK to fight his case for being deported to Antigua and not to India.
