Chorus grew against changes in the Maha Public Univ Law

Aurangabad: Even when the state government has encouraged changes to the Law of Maharashtra Public University, 2016, the more stakeholders have taken a strong objection to the proposed changes.
Dhananjay Kulkarni, from the advocacy group Vidyapeth Vikas Manche, said the amendment concerned would lead to politicization of the university circle and, in turn, ended the autonomy of the state university.
“The Academic Function and Administration of State University will have a negative impact on amendments estimated by the state government.
This will ultimately affect the quality of education and, therefore, such regressive steps must be canceled earlier,” he said.
Vikas MANS Vikas said it would look for legal roads if the MVA government encouraged amendments to the Maharashtra Public University Law, 2016.
Amendment included the appointment of the Minister of Higher Education and Technical as a Pro-Chancellor of the University and empower the minister to make recommendations, including changes.
A principal, prefers anonymity, said the minister of higher education and technical do not have the right to take over as a pro-chancellor.
“The state government only pays the auxiliary institute staff salaries.
While this special expenditure accounts for 25% of the total cost, the state government does not have the right to use control of state universities,” he said.
Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha, the BJP youth wing, on Thursday held a demonstration against the MVA government for the sought amendments.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Higher Education and Technical Education Uday Samant could not be contacted for his comments.
A senior official from his department said the panel was formed to suggest reform in the Maharashtra Public University Law, 2016.
“This is a panel who has suggested amendments and changes in laws not proposed by each party leader in power,” officials said.
