The trainees belonged to the National Underground Water Training scientists Rajiv Gandhi and the Khanchandrapur Research Institute on a four-month training tour.
They said the students who had done M.Sc in zoology, chemistry or geophysics, and managed to compete in the GSI exam conducted by the Uni Public Service Commission were referred to as B-training participant scientists and then posted as a hydrogeologist.
The training participant scientists come from 15 states including Rajasthan, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, etc.
