Church bid farewell to the booth, warning service on July 13

Ranchi: Archdiocese Ranchi on Saturday held a mass of Requiem (funeral) in St Mary’s Cathedral to say goodbye to the 84-year-old father of Stan Swamy, who died at the Mumbai Holy Family Hospital on July 5.

Leading the masses, said Felix Toppo, “Let us pray not only for our deceased Swamy Stan, but for the whole world.” FR Theodore Mascarenhas, in his homily, said, “Fr Stan Swamy is no longer on this earth.
We cannot accept his body because of the extraordinary situation arising from the pandemic, but the ashes are here with us today.
