New Delhi: State-owned Cil on Saturday said that it has launched software that will help identify thin coal layers under the earth’s crust and enhance fossil fuel resource assessment using seismic surveys during the exploration process.
The launch of the software assumes the significance as the current seismic survey technique for coal resource exploration has their limitations in identifying thin coal layers under the earth, which will now be possible because this new software helps in increasing seismic signal resolution that leads to the thinnest delineation of stone stitches Bara.
“Coal India Ltd (CIL) has launched a software called ‘Enhancement Spectral’ (SPE),” Maharatna said in a statement.
CIL’S Research and Development (R & D) Arm Mine Planning and Design Institutions (CMPDI) has developed this the first of its type software in conjunction with the Gujrat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) and the company will also submit copyright protection.
This ‘made in India’ software will also help save time and cost of coal exploration and thus increase the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat in coal production.
CIL CMD Pramod Agrawal launches software in the presence of the R & D Board of the Maharatna company, which consists of senior PSU directors and members of experts from famous organizations and institutions.
Cil accounts for more than 80 percent of state coal output.
