Cinema, theater and multiplex to stay close assam

Guwahati: The state government on Tuesday issued a new standard operating procedure (SOP) where he did not allow the reopening of the cinema, theater and multiplex, which was closed since April due to Covid-19 pandemics.
However, it provides certain relaxation in some cases, including vehicle movements and curfews.
The government’s decision to not provide a nod to reopen the cinema and theater has affected the industry, producing large economic losses, so as to encourage theater owners and employees for uncertain future.
After a prolonged national locking last year, the owner of the cinema hall had relieved in January with a central approval to reopen the hall with a 100% capacity.
However, the hall closed again in April with a second covid wave that hit the entire country.
The Association of Cinema Cinema Owner Association (Aachoa) said, “The government’s decision to allow the reopening of the hall with a capacity of 100% in January has brought rays of hope for the owner and industry.
But, the second wave crashes us again.
The cinema industry has become one of the worst patients .
We hope the government will make a decision to support us because the situation improves.
“There are around 78 cinema rooms throughout the state, which is 20 in the city.
The livelihood of thousands of people depends on them.
Four cinema rooms in Guwahati, one in the Nagaon district and others in Bijoynagar in Kamrup (rustic) was closed by the owner after a pandemic.
Closed halls are Apsara, Meghdoust, Urvashi and Vandana in Guwahati; Silver screen in Bijoynagar and Aditi in Nagaon.
The owner and employee of Cinema Hall and the brotherhood of artists urged the government to consider reopening the hall and taking initiatives for the welfare of the people associated with the industry.
