Ranchi: In the framework of the Bust myth regarding substance abuse, the psychiatric addiction center of the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi held a cum-sensitization program on Saturday.
The program is attended by patients and with careers so that they can be sensitive about stigma associated with substance abuse and also make them aware of the best practices to be followed.
This program is held as part of the ‘mental health awareness month’ which is celebrated between September 10 and 10 October every year.
Overcoming Gatherings, CIP Director Dr.
(Prof) Basudeb Das emphasizes various aspects related to substance addiction, related complications and its impact and says that it is very important for family members and the community to accept this type of case as a problem and come forward in combating them.
A skit is also organized by students of the Department of Psychiatric, social work and clinical psychology to disseminate facts related to addiction followed by discussions on topics such as signs and symptoms, de-stigmatizing issues related to substances and psychosocial management of addiction.
The program was concluded with a question and answer session where the team of doctors, including Dr.
Dipanjan, Dr.
Swarnali, Dr.
Roshan and other faculty members answered patient questions.
