Coimbatore: Icar-Sugarcane Curling Institute (SBI) based in the licensed city seven of its technology to two private companies on Tuesday.
The Institute signed a license for six technologies, including soil moisture indicators, sugar cane production, technology for production.
Sugar cane fiber food products, Jaggery Liquid, sugar cane de-trashing tools and cane removal tool for Nashik Based Nashik Edge International and a license for double-headed double-headed single single to Santanallur cutting machine.
Director of Sri Balaji.SBI Bakshmi Ram signed a license to the company representative.
“The soil moisture indicator technology, which won the first prize at A Water Awards-2021, has so far been licensed to 19 companies throughout the country, while Jaggery Liquid’s production technology has been licensed to seven companies in Kerala and Tamil Nadu,” Director said.
“Sugar cane de-trashing tool is being licensed for the second time while the remaining technology is being licensed for the first time.” This gives a non-exclusive license company to produce technology based on technology for five years 10 years.
It helps technology developed at the Institute to be mass produced and reach as many farmers as possible.
