City Cops Digging Sand Diglegally Explored Worth RS7CR

Nagpur: Illegally excavated sand worth at least RS7 Crore has been explored by the police, in front of the income department.
Sand was excavated from eight Ghat Nagpur districts and dumped in nearby places in the past two months.
The police department has sent a letter to the Tehsildars concerned, appointing sand sadness and losses that they may have consequently in the state.
Dump sand was found by a branch of crime after six interrogation was accused of committing madhya pradesh-based electronic transit fraud.
So far, the crime branch has found at least 70 irregular transit transportation from extortion.
Illegal transit passes are issued for transportation vehicles to dig sand from Ghats from Madhya Pradesh and go to different locations, but they illegally mine from Nagpur Regency and throw it in different places to exchange it at a lower price.
According to the main source in an investigation, extortion made at least 350-400 travels with illegal transit operands in Maharashtra, which lead to serious environmental depletion on the Ghats River and great losses to the state.
City Police Chief (CP) Amitesh Kumar, who oversees the probe, said six people had been arrested but many were in the pipe.
“The police will also investigate the GPS racquet location and ensure their movements.
With every illegal transit pass, transporters make a number of trips from different Ghats and benefit from the cost of state revenues,” said CP.
The owner Ghat is also under the Cops scanner now, Kumar added.
“The owner seems to have allowed transport to dig from their Ghats outside the auction period with illegal transit passes, deceiving the government in a substantial number of royalties,” he said.
The previous crime branch caught Rahul Khanna based in Madhya Pradesh, who used an irregular transit trajectory.
After the arrest, the Crime branch under DCP Chinmay Pandit has captured five transporter who have used illegal trajectories for excavation and transporting sand.
In 2021, the city police had registered around 78 cases against the sand mafia.
Some such past cases are now associated with current illegal transit fraud.
