Mumbai: In the first two weeks of July, the city has received only 25% of the average monthly rainfall.
July has so far recorded 330.2 mm rainfall while the average for this month is 1,332.5 mm.
The amount of rainfall received this month was lower than what was received in June this year, when the rainfall averaged 505 mm in the first 10 days of June.
This is the day after the beginning of the Monsun was stated above the city on June 9 this year.
This June witnessed 961.4 mm rainfall – the third highest in the last decade.
Officials said that while there was no chance of ‘heavy’ rain during the weekend, only a lightweight bathroom could be expected.
Rainfall was recorded in 24 hours of 8:30 a.m.
on Thursday by Colaba Observatory was 51.8 mm and the Santacruz observatory was 37.8mm.
