Ranchi: Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Super Hospital has the first time starting neuro-endoscopic operations to treat intracerebral bleeding (ICHs) with minimum invasive techniques without opening the brain.
The hospital authority claims that this is arguably the first time that the technique is used in the city.
The operation was being carried out by Surgeon Neuro Dr.
Amit Kumar, who recently joined the hospital, he said in a statement.
Kumar said that neuro-endoscopy operations have so far been carried out in three patients in Medica.
“In accordance with my knowledge, this method is not practiced elsewhere in the state,” he said.
Spontaneous introperral bleeding (ICHs) is responsible for 10% to 30% of all strokes.
(ICH) is generally treated using conventional craniotomy where most skulls are opened.
Kumar said, “The neuro-endoscopic operation as a minimum invasive treatment for ICH is considered a promising approach.
The keyhole approach assisted by endoscopy is more efficient” TNN
